I believe we have many “earth angels”, but I can easily count two – my Mom and Dad. However, since it’s my Mom’s birthday in a few days, I’m going to speak about her…

My mom has always said that while we’re in Heaven, before we are born, we’re consciously looking for the parents and siblings we want, and that’s how we end up with the families that we’re in.  Well, if that’s true, then I know my siblings and I count ourselves as EXTREMELY LUCKY!

Our mom has always been there for us…  Over the years, she’s made sure that our clothes were always ironed, we had a cheering section at every sporting event, made every birthday cake by scratch, displayed our presents on Christmas morning in the way that makes you feel as if it’s the most beautiful place on earth, ensured we all attended Catholic school (regardless of how difficult it was financially) and above all, she made us feel as if we had the most loving, support system any child could have. And all she said she’s ever wanted for us is to be happy!  On her birthday, I hope she knows how much she means to us and how much we love her for being our mom, our cheerleader, our friend and our “earth angel” all these years.

I love ya lots, Mom!  Molly Continue reading »

My name is Kate Daly and I was the Admission Director at a place called St. Christopher’s Inn in Garrison, New York. It is a drug and alcohol rehab and a homeless shelter for men. I worked there for 13 years and over those years I have heard and seen wonderful acts of kindness, synchronicity and yes, downright acts of the angels. This is one of my favorite stories.

A young man arrived for admission and I went out to greet him. He looked dazed and somewhat overwhelmed, but this was not all that unusual on the first day at the rehab. I was prompted however to ask him if he was ok.

“I’m ok,” he said. “But you won’t believe how I got here!” Continue reading »

During freshman year of college, Nancy and I were returning late at night to her home from a party.  We were both inebriated.  I was driving an old loaner car — her Dad’s car was being repaired.  I was driving south on I-270, going about 70 mph.  She was sitting next to me on the front bench seat.

Right before the Manchester exit, suddenly the right front tire blew!  The car immediately began veering towards the guardrail on the right.  To avoid a crash, I jerked the wheel to the left.  This caused the car to go into a spin, and the centrifugal force threw Nancy across the seat into the passenger door.  The door flew open and Nancy was thrown out of the car!!  We must have been going at least 50 mph by then!

The car spun around 2 and a half times, forcing me down the seat, almost under the steering wheel.  The car came to rest against the guardrail with hardly a bump, sitting on the shoulder of the freeway facing oncoming traffic.   Two large tractor trailers whizzed by as I struggled to sit up and look for Nancy.  I knew she must have been killed having been thrown out of the car — might have even been run over.  I was scared to even look down the highway as I raised my head and peered through the windshield.

She was running towards the car!  Not a scratch on her!  Not a bruise or a head bump!  Ejected at 50+ mph!  She said that she had just rolled along the ground.  Not only did the angels catch her and save her life, they also helped me to not get arrested when the state police arrived!

Angels Found in the Tiniest of Creatures

In 1990, I was the mother of four very active children under the age of eight. My three daughters were old enough to know their boundaries, but not my two-year-old son.

One day, while I was busy cleaning the house, thinking all was well and safe with my babies, I heard the door bell ring. Opening the front door, I found a large, burly construction worker holding my little boy’s hand. Our neighbor down the street was in the middle of massive remodel and everyday Timmy would stare out the window and the watch the trucks go by.

“Lady, I think he belongs to you,” the gentleman said. “I can tell you have a bunch of kids by the balls scattered all over the lawn.” Continue reading »

Lucky, our special Miracle Dog, came into our life January 21, 2010 when we found him at the animal shelter.  You see, we had moved to North Carolina and the time had come when we were settled in our new home and ready to find that “special” dog for our family. I believe that Divine guidance was in place from that moment on as we searched at several shelters, many web-sites, and than finding his picture on Petfinder and deciding to make the trip to the shelter 50 miles away to see if he was the right one.

When they brought out this sad, bedraggled, soiled and matted little guy with these big eyes, he stole our heart. His condition was such, due to being abandoned for 3-4 weeks by his previous owner and left to fend for himself before neighbors realized that no one was feeding or caring for him.  He was picked up by the Humane Officer, who told us that he jumped right up in her truck when she found him….no need to capture this hungry, lonely, abandoned fella.  He was than sitting in this over-crowded “shelter” facility, with only food and water provided, as he sat in his cage day in and day out for a month, waiting to find a new home, and three days from being put to “sleep.”  Unfortunately, they had no money to examine and treat any conditions that had befallen him.
