susan mccorkindaleOutstanding interview on Joy Radio yesterday with Susan McCorkindale. Susan has held top spots at Family Circle and Popular Science magazines, and today writes advertising copy on a freelance basis from the comfort of her farmhouse in Virginia. She’s the author of two outlandishly funny memoirs, “Confessions of a Counterfeit Farm Girl” and “500 Acres and No Place to Hide: More Confessions of a Counterfeit Farm Girl.”

Yesterday Susan read a portion of Chapter Thirty-One –”I’d Like to Have a Word with John Wayne” for our listeners; explained why she traded the city girl for the farm girl; gave insight on what farm life has taught her; stated some of her present challenges; shed light on what inspired her to write the book; and shared with the listeners two of her hilarious encounters from her latest memoir, “500 Acres and No Place to Hide.”

Here’s my review on Susan’s newest release. “LOL, pee in your pants, wish I was wearing Depends, read.” What are you waiting for? Order her books today and let the fun begin.

“Always leave things better than the way you found them.” ~Tim Easley

These were Tim’s words whenever he left an event, a group of friends, or even difficult situations.  Saying words is one thing. Living by them is inspirational.

Our neighbor down the street was in the middle of massive remodel and everyday Timmy would stare out the window and the watch the trucks go by.

“Lady, I think he belongs to you,” the gentleman said. “I can tell you have a bunch of kids by the balls scattered all over the lawn.” Continue reading »

“You are not here merely to make a living. You are here to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, and with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world. You impoverish yourself if you forget this errand.” ~Woodrow Wilson.

Shari Stauch is the CEO of Shark Marketing Co., a PR/Marketing/Social Media team that specializes in working with writers to increase their platforms and create bigger audiences for their words.

Shari is one of those remarkable women who steps into your life and it is forever changed. I first met Shari at Charleston’s Center for Women, where she and Kendra Haskins co-taught a class on Website Design and Social Media. After the class, I signed on the dotted line. Kendra designed my awesome website and Shari’s social media skills have taken my website to a new level at a rocketing speed.

Shari is all about her peeps. Just recently she created an “Author Social Media Exchange” where folks can like your pages and follow you. Once you add yourself to the list your job is to follow the folks on the list and everyone increases their traffic. What an awesome idea!  Visit Shari’s website and sign up today. And while you’re there spend some time cruising around. She’s one lady that’s making a huge impact in the writer community.
